Does my parent need to know how to use a smartphone?
No, absolutely not. TamTam's interface is designed for people who have never used technology. A single large button allows them to call, send a message or view photos. There are no menus, no settings to configure. You set everything up from your own phone.
Is TamTam really free?
Yes, for two. As long as the circle brings together your parent and a single caregiver — you — TamTam costs nothing, with no time limit: video calls, messages, the SOS button, medication reminders, their calendar, contacts and emergency card. The Care Circle subscription (€9.99/month or €89.99/year) is what lets you be several: inviting other relatives into the circle, opening the web portal, setting up inactivity alerts, and talking with the Milo voice assistant. Your parent never pays anything, in any case.
What happens if my parent doesn't have Internet?
TamTam needs an Internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data). Offline, medication reminders still ring at the set time, and written messages go out as soon as the connection is back. The SOS button, though, needs the network to alert the circle: with no connection, the alert doesn't go out. Wi-Fi at your parent's home is enough.
How does the web portal work?
The web portal lets relatives who haven't installed the app exchange messages with the senior. You generate a link from your dashboard and share it with them — by SMS, by email, by messaging app, however you like. They click, read and reply from their browser: no installation, no account.
Can I share management with other caregivers?
Yes — and that is precisely what the subscription pays for. On the free plan, the circle brings together your parent and one caregiver. With Care Circle you invite as many relatives as you need: each of them receives the alerts and can view the dashboard. A professional carer — home help, nurse, doctor — can belong to as many circles as they have families to visit: each family keeps its own, and the person who created each circle takes out the subscription.
Is my data secure?
Absolutely. TamTam is GDPR compliant (General Data Protection Regulation). Your data is hosted in Europe, encrypted in transit and at rest. We never sell your data or share it with any third party. You can delete your account and all your data at any time.
