How it works
Three steps to a first conversation
No profile to fill in, no list to scroll through. One person a day, and you decide.

You come in
You choose “I want to talk with other older adults”. Your ID card is checked once, then forgotten. No password, no e-mail address.

Someone is introduced to you
Every day, one face: their first name, age range, area, and one thing you both enjoy. If you would like to talk to them, you say so.

You call each other
The call only happens if the other person says yes too. The people you get along with become your TamTam friends: one button, and you call them.
Your town, your association
The people who already know you can write to you
Thursday’s seniors’ coffee morning, the outing of the month, the social service drop-in: your town or your association sends its notices to TamTam, and TamTam reads them to you out loud.

Municipalities and institutions
What your institution receives
A free pilot lasting a few weeks, setup session included. After that, an annual fee for the institution, whatever the number of older people.
The institution’s console
- the list of older adults who agreed to be linked to it;
- an alert when one of them hasn’t spoken to anyone for fifteen days;
- your messages, read aloud on their home screen.

The fee covers the pilot, the console and the setup sessions. It does not include the families’ subscription; as an option, the institution can offer it to families (access codes, on request).

Staying close to an older parent
TamTam also serves families who want to stay close to a parent. They keep the same big button; you get a circle.

A circle of up to 10 relatives, medication reminders your parent confirms with one tap, photos that land on their screen, and a weekly summary. You know all is well without having to ask.

What TamTam does not do
The most important thing, when you enter somewhere new, is knowing what cannot happen.

Nobody calls you without your consent
A conversation only starts once both of you have said yes. Outside your calling hours, nobody disturbs you.

Your ID card is not kept
It is used once, to check that you are a real person over 65. Then it is deleted.

Neither your number nor your address is shared
Other older adults see your first name, your age range and your area. Nothing else.

You can stop everything
Someone you no longer wish to see will not be introduced to you again. And your account can be deleted in one tap, with all your data.

Frequently asked questions
Is it really free?
Yes. Talking with other older adults costs nothing, with no time limit. The family circle is free for two: the older person and one relative. A subscription only starts from a second relative on, and it is the relative who takes it, never the older person.
What do people see about me?
Your first name, your age range (for example 75 to 79), your area and your interests. Your surname, your phone number and your address are never shown.
Why an ID card?
So that every person introduced is a real person, of your age. The card is checked once, then deleted. We keep no copy.
What if nobody is in my area yet?
Your area opens as soon as 20 older adults have joined. You can already come in, and we let you know when it is time. Tell people around you: that is often how it starts.
Do I need a recent phone?
No. TamTam works on iPhone and on any Android phone or tablet. On Android it even installs without a Google account, straight from this page.
In which languages?
TamTam exists in ten languages, and you choose the ones you like to speak. You are introduced to people who speak one of them.
