Create an Apple Account for a parent, without a bank card
On an iPhone, TamTam is installed from the App Store, which requires an Apple Account. Apple lets you create one without any payment method: you choose “None” when asked. Here is how, in five steps, with the parent’s phone in hand.
Five steps
-
Open the App Store on the iPhone, tap the account button at the top right, then “Create New Apple Account”.
-
Enter an e-mail address that the parent can receive (yours works too), choose a password, and pick the country.
-
When the payment method is requested, choose “None”. Apple writes it plainly: you will not be charged until you make a purchase.
-
Confirm the phone number and the e-mail with the codes Apple sends.
-
Search “TamTam” in the App Store, install it, and enter the invitation code from your circle.

Good to know
The “None” option disappears if the account organises a Family Sharing group, holds an unpaid balance, or has an active subscription. For a parent’s own account, none of that applies. TamTam itself is free for the two of you; the Circle subscription, if you ever want more people around your parent, is paid from the caregiver’s account, never from the parent’s.
